 Events and Activities

There are two main annual events on the Kundabung calendar. They are the Kundabung Rodeo and the Endurance Ride. The community hall hosts line dancing, clogging and yoga classes. There is a tennis group that plays twice a week and all newcomers are most welcome. Come along and enjoy the fun and make new friends.

Kundabung Rodeo

The annual Kundabung Rodeo is a popular event that draws well known rodeo riders from all over Australia.  There is plenty of action  and hot competition for the Australasian Titles that are up for grabs.  The rodeo has grown in size and attraction over the years and now draws around 10,000 spectators.

It is held in October at Kundabung Stables on Rodeo Drive.  The gates usually open about 10 am and the event runs till 5 pm.   Food, drink and a public bar is available and its a good idea to bring your fold up chair or blankets for sitting on.  For more information check out the Kundabung Rodeo page or contact John on 6561 5037.

Brad Scott (John Scott's son) now operates a bull riding school which draws students from far and wide.  Check out some great rodeo and bull riding school action photos here.

Endurance Ride

The Kundabung Macleay Endurance and Pleasure Riders Club Inc organise an annual endurance horse ride on the last weekend of each May.  The rides use established forestry trails and there are three rides as follows:
  • 20 km social ride - most people can get their horses to complete this one
  • 40 training ride - horses need to be fit and this is open to all comers and requires a one day membership fee
  • 80 km endurance - only for qualified endurance riders who are registered with the NSW Endurance Ricers Association.  To qualify you must have previously completed two 40 km training rides
The rides start at different times on the same day. For further information contact Bob Locke on 6561 5124.

Hall Location:
The tennis courts and community hall are on the east side of the railway line.  Turn off the Pacific Highway and into Kundabung Road.  Follow it past the timber mill and to the end the road where it veers off to the right and over the railway line.  It is a level crossing so care is needed to check for trains before crossing.

Tennis Courts
